Wicket Door Roller Shutter Power Operated
Our Wicket Door Roller Shutters are a robust product ideally suited to protect commercial and industrial premises with openings up to 10000mm wide x 6000mm high, in addition to providing ease of operation with such large openings.
Each roller shutter is made to measure, CE marked, and fitted with either a direct drive or flange mount motor, some are assisted with a counter balance spring when side room requirements prevent the use of a safety brake, ensuring each product complies with European directives and gives you peace of mind.
All our Roller Shutters are manufactured in house at our facility in Leigh and are subject to continuous product development, ensuring the products we offer are of the highest quality whilst maintaining ease of installation.

CURTAIN
25 mm thick Double Skin – flat galvanised lath, triple ribbed for strength and rigidity. Alternate laths are fitted with high density glass filled nylon endlocks, which are double pop riveted to prevent lateral movement. The curtain is attached to the shutter barrel using high tensile hexagon head set screws. A high strength mild steel retainer strip is added to the base of the curtain complete with a rubber bottom weatherseal. This helps prevent vermin & water ingress.
BARREL
5” Outside diameter Electric Resistance Welded tube (BS 6323), complete with uniquely fabricated helical wound torsion spring assembly, for counterbalancing of the shutter curtain. The assembly is mounted within the tube on a 25mm diameter steel shaft, complete with steel bearing blocks, and high grade “sealed for life” bearings. The shutter barrel assembly is fitted with a straight cut steel gear, which is normally a 4:1 ratio. Single reduction gearing is fitted as standard. Direct drive barrel assemblies can also be provided dependant on customer specification.
FLAGS
Endplates are constructed from 6mm thick mild steel plate (BS 1449), a formed endplate for the geared side and a flat endplate for the non-geared side. Bespoke mild steel “cups” are bolted to the endplate using high tensile hexagon head bolts, these “cups” are where the barrel shaft is supported. Fixing angles are formed using hot rolled angle section, 100mm x 75mm x 8mm, they coated in a black primer painted finish. Attached to the fixing angles are the galvanised (BS 729:1971) shutter guides, the guide section is typically 85mm deep, the guide thickness is 3mm. For added insulation the guides are fitted with double brush seals both sides.
MOTOR
3 Phase (415 volt) or Single Phase (240 volt) – Flange mounted to endplate, complete with starter, open/close/stop facility, limits and emergency overide facility. Direct drive motor assemblies can also be provided dependant on customer specification.
